Oops Something Happened WHAT IF MY PUPPY PREFERENCE IS NOT AVAILABLE? If the puppy you book (by sex and litter) is for whatever reason not available {the mother did not have puppies, didn't have enough, didn't have enough of the sex you chose) you have several options: 1) If available, you may choose to switch to the opposite sex on the litter of your choice 2) You may choose a puppy from another litter (if available) that we have at the time in the sex of your choice. 3) You may request your deposit be placed on an upcoming cross with specified parents and sex. WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND AND DO NOT PICK UP MY PUPPY WHEN READY? 1)All deposits are non refundable. 2)All Puppies Will Be Ready For Pick Up or Transport
At 8 Weeks Of Age Make Arrangements Accordingly. WHAT DO I DO AFTER WE CONFIRM MY PUP WAS BORN AND IS AVAILABLE? Special Note: Please remember that pups will be ready to go at 8 weeks of age (give or take, breeder discretion). Reservation of your pup gives you priority as far as number of males/ females in the litter and to whom they will go to-- it does NOT GIVE YOU"PICK" of the litter as I usually keep at least one pup out of each cross to train myself so that I know how the pups are turning out. . Pups are placed in appropriate hunt homes first, then show homes and finally -on occasion- companion homes. Puppy pick is done on a first reservation (hunt then show) basis. Deposits are forfeited should you not pick up your puppy when ready. Once you have made your pick either from coming out and looking at them or from the pictures on the internet that is your pick. It is not fair to the others who were picking after you if you want to change your mind later on. Please make sure of the dog you want when you put your name on it. I usually like you to have your pick chosen by or close to 7 weeks of age. 1) I Encourage you to start making payments on the pup at the time we confirm that there were enough males and females to accommodate everyone who had pups booked. 2) All Puppies are to be paid off at the age of 7 weeks old and pick up/ shipping arrangements made at that point. If you are going to have your pup shipped I have to have time to get it to the vet for it's health certificate. 3) If for some reason you can not pick your pup up at the age of 8 weeks I will hold the pup for one week at no charge as long as the pup is paid in full. if not you will loose your deposit and the puppy will be sold the next person in line who can come get it. 4) If For reasons beyond your control. The shipper went out of business, or the temperatures are out of spec for flying pups (Delta requires above 20 and below 85). On the 8th day after pick up date you will be charged $100 for one month of kennel fee's. If you pick up the pup a week later it is still $100. Kennel fees include feed, housing, cleaning and kennel maintenance, and I will start the training of your pup for you while it is in my care. You will be charged an additional $100 every 30 days until the pup is picked up. Section 5 below is another option. 5) I have alot of guys that want their pup started on drags and going well before they pick it up this is at approximately 9-12 months of age for most pups out of this kennel. If you would prefer to do this it is a even $600 charge For training and kennel charges for 7-10 months on the pup. As soon as the pup is following drags and running and treeing a drag at night I expect him to be picked up. At that point your pup is ready to start hunting on his own. WHAT IS A "CAMPAIGNING" OR "COMPETITION" HOME? This is a home that actively takes their coonhounds to events sponsored by the United Kennel Club (UKC) as well as some of the other Kennel Clubs such as PKC, AKC, NKC and ACHA. These homes compete with their hounds in hunting events, show events, water race events or field trials. To be considered a campaigning/ competition home- you must either currently be actively participating in COONHOUND related events as listed above or must be willing to with your new puppy. SHIPPING AND OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION; Pups can not be shipped before 8 weeks of age (airline requirement). Our fee for taking the dog to the vet and the to the airport (50 Miles away) is $60. All costs of shipping are paid by buyer & are separate from the puppy sale. This includes: airline fee ($170 or $193), vet certificate ($30) (airline required), the shipping crate (see below) & handling charges. I currently use Delta Airlines out of Salt Lake City International. for shipping pups and dogs. The cost to most anywhere in the US is right at $190-$210 (prices keep changing with fuel prices) if pup is shipped in a small or medium crate. I suggest a Medium Kennels as you can use it later and it is usually only a couple dollars more that the small ($40+ or -) You are welcome to UPS me a crate of your own for about $3-4 and that will save you from having me purchase one. All fees must be paid ONE WEEK prior to shipping (7 wk's of age). The airline will allow buyer to pay the airline portion of shipping expenses at pick up/ by credit card if you prefer. Pups must be picked up promptly at arrival time. Also remember that there ARE weather restrictions in
place by the airlines and specifically some of the airports. Temperatures
below 20 degrees
or above 85 are not allowed by Delta. If buying a winter or summer pup
a dog transporter usually works out the best as we spend alot of time
waiting for temperatures to be right during these times of the year. If you are not completely satisfied with your Cedar Valley puppy, you may return it within 10 days (at buyer's expense) for a full refund of the purchase price only. Any older puppy (over 8 wk's of age) or started dog purchased
must be picked up within two weeks of commitment. Puppies booked before
8 wk's
must be picked up by 9 wk's old. All deposits are non-refundable. |
